Porsche 928 Cover Fitting

Porsche 928 seat fitting instructions diagram
  1. Keep and label all foam pads from centre cushion cover parts, mark direction = front or top + sequence, as these will need to be used again on new covers.
  2. Use steam ( take care to protect yourself from the steam) to return foam pads to the correct shape if needed, use 1/4 inch foam supplied to skin pads to fill out cover parts if required.
  3. Hog ring clips / fastners are supplied ( you will need a matching tool for their use, not supplied) it is possible to improvise with small zip ties if nothing else is available.
  4. Fitting detail on centre cover parts = arrange tails of seams to point inward on top of cushions, see drawing ( this detail can sometimes be seen on the original covers as they are removed).
  5. On the backrest centre cushion the cover is fixed around the back by staples which are applied by a special staple gun ( staples go in & are then splayed outwards into the foam), this is an expensive tool costing £700+, which we have in our shop. Alternatively, it is possible to fix this area using contact glue. When the cover isfixed on foam face parts glue the foam & matching cover parts that attach to the back of the cushion & bring together when touch dry.
